YOUR STORY MATTERS

Editor's Note

Fifty cars. One club built from scratch. Ricky Withers was one of the four who started IconiQ Corvette Club — not as a member who joined, but as a founder who believed. His philosophy has never changed: drive it, put miles on it, and surround yourself with good people who do the same.

There from Day One

An exclusive interview with our featured VIP
Most members joined IconiQ. Ricky W. built it. He was one of the four individuals who came together to form the club from the ground up — no blueprint, no guarantee, just a shared belief that something better was possible.

What brought them together wasn't just Corvettes. It was commitment — to each other, and to the community around them.

This club is like family. We hang out after Corvette season. It's more about the people and our commitment to help the community.

His read on the atmosphere? Very laid back. Very chill. No pressure, no pretense. A club where showing up in a stock car gets the same respect as rolling in with a full build. The unspoken rule is simple: keep your car clean. Everything else is yours to decide.

Meet 650PLUS

An exclusive interview with our featured VIP
Fifty cars into a lifetime of car ownership — and Ricky landed on a 2015 Corvette C7 Z06. He calls it 650PLUS, a name that needs no explanation the moment you hear the engine.

His approach to builds reflects his philosophy on the hobby at large: positive encouragement for those who want to modify, and the same positive energy for those who don't.

Too many to list — that's his answer when asked which builds best represent the club's spirit. IconiQ just has that many nice cars.

On seeing fellow member Chris's RVRN wheels in person? "Very nice!!" — straightforward, no overthinking. When something is right, you know it.

Hot Wheels to Z06

An exclusive interview with our featured VIP
He can't point to a single moment when the car obsession started. It was always there — Hot Wheels on the floor, interesting cars in the driveway, a family that never let a good car stay stock for long. Over five decades of car ownership, the passion never cooled. It just evolved.

I've owned over 50 cars in my life. I have always loved cars — since I played with Hot Wheels. The Corvette just so happened to be one of my favorites.

What pulled him into IconiQ specifically? His brothers — the core group already forming the club. When people you trust are building something from scratch, the decision is easy. What surprised him most after joining? How quickly that trust became something real.

The club's best 2025 moment: winning Largest Club trophies at two major car shows — including one out of state. Thirty-five cars rolling deep. A statement made without a single word.

$1,000 and a Day Party

In the summer of 2025, IconiQ threw a day party. It wasn't just a good time — by the end of it, they had raised and donated $1,000 to a local non-profit. A glimpse of what the club is really capable of when it turns its energy toward community.

The 2026 car show is the next chapter. What excites Ricky most isn't the Corvettes — it's all the other clubs, all the other cars, all the people who will show up from outside Lansing to be part of something that started with four guys and a shared vision.

I'm excited to see all the cars — not just Corvettes. And to hang out with the other car clubs. That's what makes a show feel like something more than just a show.

His hope for the club years from now is exactly what it's always been: a group of good people, good for the community, helping other non-profits along the way. Cars got them here. People will keep them going.
