YOUR STORY MATTERS

Editor's Note

Great builds aren’t rushed—they’re earned.

Aaron’s 2007 Mustang GT Widebody and its bronze DR08D deep dish wheels are the result of an unusually long and meticulous journey. Countless back-and-forths, refinements, and discussions shaped every detail into exactly what it needed to be.

That level of patience and commitment is rare—and it shows.

Now part of our ambassador family, Aaron’s build is a true testament to what happens when vision meets persistence.

Building the Perfect Balance

An exclusive interview with our featured VIP
What first drew you to your 2007 Mustang GT widebody? Was there a specific moment or memory that made you decide this was the car for you?

Originally, I wasn’t specifically looking to get a Mustang, any cheap manual car would have sufficed. But my mom being a previous mustang owner, my dad insisting that a cheap car will cost more in the long run, and them both being great parents; helped me purchase a clean 2007 Mustang GT with only 16k miles back in 2014 when I first got my license.

How does your 2007 Mustang GT widebody fit into your lifestyle? Can you share a memorable scenario where your Mustang really stood out?

It was my daily driver for 6 years and I drove it everywhere. I then installed a Saleen supercharger and everything snowballed from there. Suffice to say, I worked on it as much as I drove it,so it became more than just a car to me. It was equal parts a hobby as it was a mode of transportation. I even drove it to and from the church when I got married.
I went through 5 sets of wheels of varying size and color. 20”, 19”, 18”; black, white, chrome, bronze. I’ve had both single and multi-piece wheels, real and replicas. Some I outright didn’t like, others were fine but just didn’t stick. But the one issue I had with all of them was fitment, I always had to use spacers or they just didn’t fit as nicely as I would have preferred.

How did you first learn about RVRN, and what made you consider them over other wheel brands?

With all the modifications I had done to the engine, exhaust, suspension, and exterior; I figured it was time to find an end all set of wheels. I knew a custom set was what I wanted, so I had been browsing around for companies who provided that. Around the same time, Shirokai (a company that produces wide body kits) messaged me asking if I’d like to install one on my Mustang; to which I said yes. This made the choice of companies that make custom wheels much slimmer as the offset I calculated was a staggering -70mm, among them was RVRN wheels.

Elevating the Experience with RVRN

An exclusive interview with our featured VIP
When selecting your RVRN wheels, what caught your eye first? Why was that important to you?

I knew that with the body kit, I didn’t want the wheels to be so flashy they become the focal point. Instead, I wanted something that would add to the overall aesthetic and flow well with the rest of the car. So The DR08 step lips caught my eye, an oem+ look with fine details that would make you have to look twice.

Did you have any custom requests for your wheels? How did the RVRN team collaborate with you to bring that vision to life?

I sent a quick message asking if they could be made to the spec that I needed and was promptly answered by Vicky who took down all the information for my wheels and took care of the rest. The offset however, did pose an issue with the design. I was given the option for max concavity or maximum lip, neither of which I felt would look right at such an extreme offset. After some back and forth with Bruce, who was my wheel engineer, my dream wheels were born. A gloss black lip, bronze faced, monster that somehow both hides and accentuates the offset and tucks perfectly within the widened wheel arches.

The Transformation

An exclusive interview with our featured VIP
What’s the first thing you noticed about your car after installing your RVRN wheels? Was it the handling, the appearance, or something else?

Opening the box for the first time was truly an experience, getting to see what was only renderings and pictures a few weeks prior, in front of me. Besides the amazing finish, the first thing that stood out to me was how light they were for their size. At 20 x 11 inches, the wheels are not small by any means. Knowing they’re forged, I expected them to be light, but I didn’t expect them to be noticeably lighter than my 19 x 9s that were on the car previously.

Have there been moments when RVRN wheels exceeded your expectations? How do people react when they see your car with the RVRN wheels?

With the mustang sitting at a hefty 82” wide, it definitely gets a lot of attention whenever I drive it. The most common question is always “what wheels are these?” And to the more keen car enthusiasts, the follow up question is usually “what offset are they?” It’s always entertaining to see their reaction when I tell them it’s -70. highend, super-expensive wheels out there.

Closing Thoughts

An exclusive interview with our featured VIP
Is there anything we haven’t covered about your RVRN experience that you’d like to share?

If I could describe RVRN in one sentence to a fellow car enthusiasts, I would say “The go to place for the wheels you want, exactly how you want them.” I know that it would mostly be for very specific cases, but a feature I’d love to see in future wheel collections is the addition of the same hybrid deep dish/concave as my wheels for other wheel designs. I think it’s such a good blend that bridges the gap for cars needing wheels with large offsets so owners don’t need to pick one over the other.
