Mike & Ricky: From Spring Corvette Expo to Corvettes at Carlisle

When Mike Slagle and Ricky Crews met at the 2026 Spring Corvette Expo in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, they discovered a connection beyond their shared love of Corvettes: they were both RVRN members.

That discovery became the beginning of a friendship. After the Expo, they made plans to attend another show together—Corvettes at Carlisle.

On August 27–29, 2026, that plan brought them to the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Pennsylvania. They arrived as friends, each with a Corvette that reflected his own taste and dedication. By the end of the event, they had three trophies between them.

For the RVRN community, their story is about the people, friendships, and shared experiences that become part of owning a car you love.

A Shared Connection at Spring Corvette Expo

A car show brings people together through the details: a familiar body style, a distinctive finish, a build that makes someone stop and look.

For Mike and Ricky, the connection became personal when they realized they belonged to the same RVRN community.

Each had taken his own approach to customizing his Corvette. Mike’s C8 Z06 paired gloss black wheels with details matched to its Rapid Blue paint. Ricky’s C7 Grand Sport wore chrome, accented with blue hardware.

Different expressions of the same enthusiasm—and a shared membership that gave them something more in common.

Their plans for Carlisle grew from that first meeting. An encounter at one show became a reason to look forward to the next.

Mike Slagle: Two Corvettes, Two Reasons to Celebrate

Mike brought two Corvettes to Carlisle, and each came home with an award.

His 2025 Corvette C8 Z06 Convertible earned first place in its York County Corvette Club class. Its custom-forged RVRN RV-T081 wheels feature gloss black spokes and barrels, with the lips and screws color-matched to Rapid Blue.

Those blue details carry the body color into the wheels, giving the car a coordinated look that feels distinctly Mike’s.

His 2018 Corvette C7 Grand Sport received a separate honor: the Celebrity Choice Award.

Two cars, two awards, and a memorable weekend for an owner who had brought both of his builds to the show.

Ricky Crews: 99 Points and Looking Ahead

Ricky’s 2017 Corvette C7 Grand Sport, fitted with chrome RVRN RV-DC04 wheels and Ocean Blue screws, competed in the NCCC Judged Concours.

His Corvette scored 99 out of 100 points, tying with the previous year’s champion. A tiebreaker determined the final order, and Ricky finished third in a field of nine.

He shared the result with the kind of enthusiasm that keeps a hobby moving forward:

“I tied last year’s champion at 99 points—the tiebreaker went his way. Next year, I’ll have the experience!”

A trophy to take home, experience to build on, and another show to look forward to. Ricky was already thinking about the next opportunity.

Three Trophies, One Shared Weekend

Mike and Ricky’s awards belonged to three individual Corvettes. Their friendship connected the experience.

Months earlier, they had met at Spring Corvette Expo and discovered they were both RVRN members. Now, they were attending Carlisle together, with new achievements to add to the story.

This is a part of membership we love seeing unfold: owners recognizing a shared interest, staying connected, and making plans that bring them together again.
